Apple orchard - Day 25

APPLE SEASON

La saison des pommes bat son plein à Mont St-Hilaire, juste de l'autre côté de la rivière. Encore plusieurs semaines de cueillette, ensuite ce sera le gel qui fera son oeuvre. Les pommes serviront alors à préparer les fameux cidres de glace qui font l' honneur de la région.

It's apple season just across the river, in Mont St-Hilaire. There are still many weeks left to pick up apples, then the late ones will freeze. We will then have those famous apple ciders so popular in the area.

Une très jolie aquarelle. On se croirait en Normandie !
Je n'ai jamais goûté le cidre de glace. C'est bon ? Sûrement !

Je sais que la pomme la plus populaire pour les cidres de glaces est la Cortland et qu'elle reste dans l'arbre jusqu'en janvier environ, alors que les vrais froids sont présents.
