Automn walk

.
AQUARELLA - 5 X 7 INCHES CARD
ON STRATHMORE 140 PDS COLD PRESS
NOT AVAILABLE
It's a rainy day but sunshine is not too far away.  I love umbrellas and blond hair.  For the hair, it didn't work so, I added a beret  How do you paint rain on a water painting?  Do you leave blank spots at the very beginning or add darker spots at the end?

Oh, very very nice Helen. I have a special liking for umbrellas in photos. I don't know why, I just do.

Helen - this is a delightful piece. Such a lovely job with the umbrella too...I don't think I have ever attempted to paint rain...maybe that is something I should try. Hope there is sunshine today for you. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hilda! It's a black and white photo I had, so I invented some colors to fit with the season.

Thanks Debbie, I'll keep looking on internet. Maybe there's a demo of sort.

Hi Sherry! Thanks . Her béret is an afterthought, because her hair looked like a mop at one point. :)
Happy day Sherry.

great job, I'm in North Carolina visiting my parents and it has been raining everyday. You make it look so much better.

Bisous.

O yes, umbrella is definitely the best. Good work, Helen!

Wonderful colors on a rainy day , really beautiful ! A while ago I did a rainy painting in watercolor and as far as I remember I used a piece of absorbing paper to create the rain. While the color still is wet you kind of pull the absorbing paper through and upwards . All the best.

Thanks Maga! It is an umbrella I would like to have for myself. :)
