Très peu de temps pour travailler aujourd'hui, mais j'ai quand même réussi à faire ce sketch au fusain . Pour la dernière journée, jour 30,  j'ajouterai peut-être simplement de la couleur. Je ne sais pas encore.

Only time for a quick sketch with charcoal for Day 29 , which was yesterdayl!  For the next and last painting of the Leslie Saeta's September Challenge , I might just add color to this one.  Who knows!!!

Un peu en retard pour ce 28e jour, mais çà arrive ! Il y a autre chose dans la vie à part la peinture. Ici, un petit mélange d'aquarelle et acrylique. J' ai utilisé ma derniere feuille de ce papier que j'aime bien.

A bit late for this 28 today, but those things happen! I have another life besides painting. Here is one done in waterpainting and acrylic. I just used the last paper of my favorite pad.

Mes crayons avaient besoin d'exercice  aujourd'hui. Alors, j'ai trouvé un sujet pour les rendre heureux et moi aussi.

My pencils really needed exercice today.   I found  a subject so they could amuse themselves as much as I did.

Les fleurs du jardin sont fatiguées, il en reste peu. Ici, une aquarelle intitulée "  fin d' été ". Beaucoup de plaisir à peindre cette toile, malgré la chaleur intense qui sévit toujours.

Here is a waterpainting called " end of summer ", a reminder that the flowering season is almost over in the garden. I  had a good time painting this despite the terrible heat.

J'ai encore le goût de faire du portrait. Dessiner des lignes, effacer le moins possible et ajouter un peu de couleur. J'aime voir le graphite sur le papier.

I always love doing portraits. Draw lines,erase as less as possible and add some colors, not too much. I like to see graphite on paper.

Depuis hier, c'est l'automne et malgré la chaleur intense, je ne peux m'empêcher d'y penser. Voici une peinture acrylique sur toile hautement colorée.

Automn is here even if the weather is very warm for this time of year. I can't help imagining the coming colors. Here is an acrylic painting on canvas!

BEGINNING OF SEASON

 Je suis sortie ce matin et dejà çà sent l'automne, une odeur de terre chaude, de tiges desséchées . Alors, voici une peinture pour me propulser dans l'atmosphère de cette nouvelle saison qui commence.

I was outside this morning and I noticed the change in the weather right away, an odor of  fall settling in. So, here is a painting to bring myself in the mood of this new season beginning.

Un bouquet expérimental avec de l'acrylique. Un fond avec une couche très liquide et des touches de plus en plus épaisses pour donner du volume au bouquet avec les couleurs du moment.

An experimental bouquet done in acrylic.  A background with  diluted paint and heavier touches  to give it more volume, using  the colors of the day.

EXERCICE ON 14 X 17 INCHES

C'est Dimanche et mon exercice de pastel de la journée est terminé! Une heure intense avec ce visage aux yeux fatigués et qui ne me satisfait pas, mais demain est un autre jour. Bonne journée!

It's Sunday and already my hour time with Pastel is over and done with. Not satisfied with these watery eyes but tomorrow is another day. Have a lovely day!

Je dois commencer à être fatiguée, j'ai sauté le jour 15.  Désolée.  C'est un pastel evoquant le grand jour pour une mariée.  Enfin, çà devrait ressembler à un voile.Ce n'est pas moi, non non! lol

I must getting tired, I skipped Day 15, so sorry!  It's a pastel representing a bride with her veil. Not me , no no!lol

PASTEL  -  SEPTEMBER FANTASY

Laissant aller mon imagination, voici un pastel format 14 x 17 pouces, sur papier Canson grain moyen. Mes doigts ont fait le reste, ainsi que mes nouvelles craies Staedler tout à fait magiques.

Here is a pastel, 14 x 17 inches on Canson paper, medium tooth.  My fingers did the rest helped by my new Staedler color chalks. Magical!

Un visage que j'aime beaucoup et que j'ai pris plaisir à peindre. C'est mon travail du jour, une heure d'exercice avec des craies tendres pastel .

A SUMMER DANCE 

Summer flowers on Canson paper, Classic 1557 . Always a pleasure to paint in pastel. It's a new discovery every time.

Des fleurs d'été sur papier pastel Canson, Classique 1557. J'aime peindre au pastel et pour moi, c'est une nouvelle decouverte à chaque fois.

J'ai acheté quelques nouveaux tubes de peinture acryliques. C'est à peine si j'ai pu atendre d'arriver à la maison avant de commencer cette peinture. Elle n'est pas terminée, je vais devoir l'examiner un peu plus avant de décider ce que je peux y rajouter. 

I bought some new acrylic colors and could hardly wait to get home to start painting. It's not finished yet, but I need to look at it some more before I decide what to do.

Une nouvelle approche à l'acrylique, plus spontanée, sans dessin au préalable.  Ayant en tête  ce qu'il y avait de fleurs au jardin  il y a peu de temps, voici un bouquet improvisé ou devrais-je dire des bouquets!

A new approach in acrylic, more spontaneous, without any drawing.  Keeping in mind what was in the garden a while ago, here is an improvised bouquet or should I say bouquets!

Un travail fait sur papier aquarelle , mais j'ai utilisé de l'acrylique. Étonnamment, ce papier se prête à plein de choses. Quand j'aurai plus de temps, j'aimerais dessiner quelque chose de semblable à ceci mais en plus grand.

Some work done on waterpainting paper, but I've used acrylic paint instead. Surprisingly, it did a good job! I may use it again to experiment. When I have more time, I'd like to  draw something similar to this one  but in a larger format.

Un exercice à l'aquarelle avec des masses de couleurs. Çà me rappelle des pastels que j'ài dejà fait dans le passé, un look semblable, sauf pour la transparence.

An exercise in waterpainting with masses of colors. It reminds me of certain pastels I`ve done in the past . The look is similar,  though less transparent.

A waterpainting that I didn`t have much time for. Landscapes are not the easiest paintings for me. I should practice more.

Quelques zinnias que j'ai ramassés au jardin!  Il en reste encore , c'est surprenant. C'est une fleur qui égaie les plates-bandes jusqu'à  tard en saison.

A few giant zinnias picked from the garden!  I'm surprised because there are still some left. It's a splendid flower blooming all summer long.

Encore un portrait au pastel!  Ce visage est commencé depuis quelques jours et à encore besoin d'un peu de travail, mais je n'arrive plus à mettre la main dessus. Est-ce possible de perdre quelque chose dans son propre studio? ....

Another pastel! I started this drawing a few days ago and it still needs a few corrections but, I can't find it anymore. Is it possible to loose something in my own studio...?......

Pour ce 3e jour, un portrait realisé avec des craies de pastel .  Je serai absente quelques jours , mais j'essaierai de publier mes autres dessins dès que je le  pourrai. Un nouveau bébé fera bientôt son apparition dans la famille. :)

On this 3rd day, here's a portrait done with soft pastel chalks. I'll be gone for a few days but I will publish my new paintings as soon as possible. A newborn is expected any day now in our family. :)

J'ai essayé de travailler avec un peu de bleu gris pour les ombres du visages, peut-être un peu trop de blanc utilisé. Manque de couleur franche. A partir d'une photo d' une jeune amie.
I tried working with some blue gray for the shadows, I may have overused white . Not enough pure colors.

Septembre est devenu un mois très occupé depuis quelques années! Le Défi 30 peintures en 30 jours de Leslie Saeta est maintenant devenu un "must ".  Il me permet d'expérimenter avec différents crayons et  peintures, de travailler sur différents supports et d'essayer plein de sujets différents.
Aujourd'hui, Jour 1 une aquarelle , style un peu affiche avec ma jolie nièce Evelina comme  sujet!

Leslie Saeta's Painting Challenge  30 paintings in 30 days

September has become a very busy month in the last years. Leslie Saeta's Painting Challenge is now a "must ". I find it's a period for trying all kinds of things I wouldn't dare or find the time otherwise.  Like playing with différents pencils and pens, working on different types of  papers and canvases, and experimenting with new subjects.
Day 1, a waterpainting style poster, with my lovely niece Evelina posing as my model!
